Upper Hunter Community Services (UHCS) is a community based incorporated organisation primarily located in Muswellbrook to service to Upper Hunter region of NSW. UHCS was formed by the amalgamation of Upper Hunter Community Management Inc., Upper Hunter Community Training Inc. and Upper Hunter Family Support Service.
Black Dog Institute's Wayne Wigham will be coming back to share with the community mental health presentations over 3 days in March.
We would love to hear from community organisations/clubs, sporting organisations, high school communities and afternoon/weekend activity based groups working with high school aged young people.
Talking about Mental Health Presentation "INSIGHT" - "Delivered by a presenter with a lived experience of mental illness, this presentation aims to increase mental health literacy, reduce stigma and promote help-seeking for young people. Our youth presenters help to break down the barriers of stigma and misunderstanding surrounding mental illness by sharing their story of courage and hope. Through illustrations, facts and storytelling your students will learn what to look out for, how to have a conversation and where to go for support"
A big thank you to the Black Dog Institute and Wayne Wigham for sharing your experiences and vital information in the Upper Hunter.
