Connecting Families

Strengthening and supporting families in the Upper Hunter

Connecting Families provides tailored support for parents and caregivers of children aged 0–17 years across the Muswellbrook LGA, Upper Hunter Shire LGA, and for Aboriginal families in Singleton. Our aim is to help families feel supported, confident, and connected, ensuring that both parents and children can thrive.

Connecting Families Services include

  • Information, advice, and referrals to a wide range of services and supports to meet individual family needs

  • Case management and personalised, family-centred assistance, ensuring each family receives the right support at the right time
  • Practical skills-building groups designed to strengthen everyday parenting and family resilience
  • Evidence-based parenting programs tailored for children of all ages, providing strategies to support learning, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Supported Smalltalk Playgroups in Muswellbrook, Singleton, and the Upper Hunter Shire, giving parents and caregivers opportunities to connect, learn, and engage with their children
