Upper Hunter Community Services

Upper Hunter Community Services Inc. (UHCS) is a community based incorporated organisation primarily located in Muswellbrook to service the Upper Hunter region of NSW.

UHCS offers a wide range of programs and services designed to strengthen wellbeing, connection and resilience. Our team works across multiple locations — including remote communities — to ensure support is accessible to everyone.

UHCS was formed by the amalgamation of Upper Hunter Community Management Inc., Upper Hunter Community Training Inc. and Upper Hunter Family Support Service. Our projects are proudly funded by NSW Department of Social Services; NSW Department of Communities and Justice; NSW Department of Education and BHP.

Ongoing clients of UHCS can be provided access to relevant websites and printing on an as needs basis, however general public access computers are available at the Library.
UHCS does not have the facilities to provide transport to the general public. We are unable to provide cash to pay for fuel or transport tickets.
No, UHCS does not hold cash at any of it’s premises and does not distribute emergency relief in cash payments in any instance.
Emergency relief is provided to eligible clients by appointment. There is an assessment process, and assistance is limited. In some cases, small staple food parcels may be provided to assist clients to deal with their immediate needs. Appointments can be made in person or over the phone.
UHCS regularly run parenting groups in Muswellbrook and surrounding areas depending on funding and demand. We have staff accredited to deliver 123 Magic, Triple P and the Behavioural Management Parenting Program. Please check our upcoming events, or contact us on 0265423555 to register your interest. Everyone is welcome to attend. UHCS is also able to provide individual assistance through our family support service, contact our office for more information.
Although UHCS Inc. receives funding from Government sources, we are not a government department. UHCS Inc is an incorporated association and has a board of volunteer committee members from the community.
UHCS Inc. provides a range of state and federally funded welfare and community services delivered from several locations in Muswellbrook. These services range from emergency relief and crisis accommodation to information, advocacy and support, and children’s services such as out of school hours care and mobile outreach service.

UHCS also partners with BHP Billiton Mt Arthur and Muswellbrook Shire Council to deliver Community Development Initiatives.
