Key function is to enhance parent's skills and confidence in raising children, to improve children’s health and well-being.
Muswellbrook's Hunter Park Family Centre has been operating since 2001 to support families with information and referrals. We are a multi purpose outreach service providing access to services and support for families in South Muswellbrook, and anyone from outlying areas, needing a break or support.
Outreach includes: Department of Housing, early childhood nurse, supported playgroups, speech pathology, Playtime once a fortnight. Also the Centre can be a venue for groups, recreational and holiday activities.
Attend our friendly group meetings on Wednesdays with activities for both children and adults. Bring a home-made afternoon tea. Guest speakers.
During school holidays local children are invited to get their hands dirty working oin the community garden, where they learn about growing vegetables. Families then get to enjoy the fruits of their labour with decent supplied in season vegetables, such as silverbeet, beans, peas and lettuce.
